Number of registered legal entities exceeds 539,200

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Number of registered legal entities in Uzbekistan made up 539,200 units as of 1 July 2013, of which 512,200 units or 95% are operating, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said quoting the Single State Registrar of Enterprises and Organizations.

Largest number of the enterprises is registered in trade and catering (24.7% of total registered enterprises), agriculture and forestry (20.9%), industry (14.2%) and construction (7.4%).

Share of non-governmental enterprises in total number of registered companies made up 92.7%, of which 51.2% - farms and dehkan entities, 18.7% - private enterprises, 0.9% - enterprises with foreign capital and 21.9% - other enterprises.

The committee said that number of registered enterprises made up 22,500 units in January-June 2013, of which 16.3% of them registered in Tashkent city, 8.5% - Kashkadarya region and 8.2% in Samarkand region, as well as 8% in Jizzkah region.

About 37.7% of newly registered enterprises fell to share of agriculture and foster, 19.8% - industry, and 18.8% - trade and catering.

In the reporting period, about 14,700 enterprises and organizations were liquidated, of which 3,300 were liquidated on voluntary bases.

About 31.3% of liquidated enterprises fell to share of trade and catering, 25.4% - agriculture and 14.2% - to industry.
