Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The growth rate of the number of newly created enterprises, compared to the same period of last year, amounted to 7.7%. If we consider in the context of industries, then the growth was observed in the field of agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 79.7%, information and communications - by 34.0%, health care and the provision of social services - by 5.4%, as well as in Surkhandarya - 20.3%, Kashkadarya - 162.1%, Ferghana - 40.4%, Jizzakh - 36.3%, Namangan - 7.8% and Bukhara - 35.9% regions.
As of 1 March 2021, the number of enterprises in all regions of the country has increased compared to the same period in 2020. At the same time, the average growth rates in the country amounted to 18.7%, the highest growth rates were recorded in Surkhandarya (30.1%), Jizzakh (20.9%) Kashkadarya (24.2%) and Samarkand (22.9%) regions.
By types of economic activity, the greatest growth, compared with the corresponding period of 2020, was noted in agriculture, forestry and fisheries (41.7%), trade (27.4%), information and communication (20.6%), as well as in industry (18.7%).
Agriculture, forestry and fisheries are the least affected sectors of the economy during the coronavirus pandemic. Thanks to the special attention paid to this area of activity by our state, it becomes obvious that, compared to the same period in 2019, the number of operating enterprises and organizations increased by 71.9%.
The main areas of this industry are seasonal and perennial crops, livestock, hunting and agriculture, which account for 91.6% of the total volume of agriculture, forestry and fisheries.
The most important areas of this industry are timber harvesting, collection of non-timber forest products and forestry, which accounts for 0.4% of the total volume of agriculture, forestry and fisheries.
Freshwater fishing and fish feeding in artificial reservoirs are the main activities of fish farming, which account for 8.0% of the total volume of agriculture, forestry and fisheries.
It should be noted that the industrial sector has the greatest potential among other sectors of the economy. Over the past three years, the number of operating industrial enterprises in the national economy has increased by 41.9%. Although a coronavirus pandemic was declared in 2020, the number of industrial enterprises, even under quarantine conditions, increased by 18.7%.
Of the total number of enterprises and organizations, the number of industrial enterprises amounted to 18.7%, of which 94.9% belong to the manufacturing industry (growth, compared to 2020, is 19.1%), 3.1% - to the mining industry and development quarries (growth - 12.4%), 0.5% - electricity supply, gas, steam and air conditioning (growth - 20.5%), 1.5% - water supply, sewerage, waste collection and disposal (growth – 9.5 %)
The construction industry is one of the areas with great potential for maintaining economic stability, since its products are in demand for many industries. The number of enterprises and organizations related to the construction sector, compared to the same period in 2019, increased by 35.8% and is one of the sectors with stable growth rates among the sectors of the national economy
The main factor that influenced the growth in the number of enterprises in the construction industry as of 1 March 2021 by 12.7%, if compared with the same period in 2020, is the growth in the number of operating enterprises in the construction of buildings and structures by 57.9% (of the total number enterprises in the construction industry) (growth rate - 7.2%), civilian objects - by 9.2% (growth rate - 22.1%), specialized construction works - by 32.9% (growth rate - 20.8 %)
Enterprises operating in the field of trade account for 27.9% of their total number in the republic. The development of this sector has a positive effect on improving the living standards of the population, the consumption of quality products, the growth of production and employment.
The total number of enterprises and organizations operating in the field of trade in the following areas: retail trade, excluding trade in cars and motorcycles, accounted for 63.4%, having increased by 30.3% in comparison with the corresponding period of the last year; wholesale trade, except for trade in cars and motorcycles, accounted for 28.4% and increased by 20.6%; wholesale and retail trade in cars and motorcycles and their repair - 8.2%, an increase of 30.5%.
As of March 1, 2021, the number of operating enterprises and organizations in the field of accommodation and catering services, compared to the same period in 2019, increased by 44.4% and amounted to 6.3% of the total number of enterprises in the country.
Hotels, tourist camps, parks, recreation and entertainment towns are important areas of activity in the field of accommodation services and, as of March 1, 2021, the share of operating enterprises and organizations in the field of accommodation and catering services was 9.2%. Compared to the corresponding period of 2020, the number of enterprises and organizations in this area increased by 13.7%.
Restaurants and services for the delivery of food, food on order and other services for the delivery of food, as of March 1, 2021, account for 90.8% of the service sector for the provision of food and beverages. Compared to last year, the growth rate of enterprises and organizations in this area amounted to 15.2%.
Compared to the corresponding period of 2019, the number of operating enterprises and organizations in the field of information and communications increased by 37.8%, amounting to 2.0% of their total number, and the growth rates have been steadily increasing over the past three years. It is known that the field of information and communication is an important tool in ensuring the transparency of the reform process, creating an effective mechanism for the exchange of information between the state and society.
As of March 1, 2021, the number of enterprises and organizations engaged in the development of publishing, production of films, videos, television programs, phonograms and musical recordings accounted for 21.8% of the information and communication sector, having increased compared to the corresponding period of 2020 by 20.1%. The number of enterprises for the creation of programs, television and radio broadcasting and communications in the field of information and communications amounted to 32.6%, having increased by 20.2% compared to the corresponding period of 2020. The number of enterprises in computer programming and information services amounted to 45.6% in the field of information and communications, an increase, compared to the same period of last year, by 21.2%.
In connection with the further expansion and development of all areas of private medical institutions in our country, necessary and qualified medical services are provided not only to our compatriots, but also to citizens of neighboring countries. As of March 1, 2021, the number of enterprises in the field of healthcare and the provision of social services amounted to 1.9% of the total number of enterprises, having increased by 35.3% compared to the corresponding period of 2019.
As of March 1, 2021, 94.8% of healthcare and social services enterprises were healthcare enterprises, which is 115.9% more when compared with the corresponding period of 2020. The number of residential care providers was 2.6%, which is 8.4% more than in the same period in 2020. The number of enterprises providing social services without housing increased by 9.0% and, if compared with the corresponding period of 2020, in the field of health care and social services, it is 2.6%.
As of March 1, 2021, the number of operating enterprises and organizations in the field of transportation and storage increased by 127.3% and, compared to the same period in 2019, of the total number of operating enterprises and organizations in the country, it amounted to 3.6%. As of March 1, 2021, the growth rates of enterprises and organizations in the field of land and pipeline transport operating in transportation and storage amounted to 10.8% and, compared to the corresponding period of 2020, 115.2% are accounted for by warehousing and auxiliary transport activities, 23.4% - for postal and courier services. The number of operating enterprises and organizations in the field of air transport amounted to 90.4% and, if compared with the same period in 2020, then, at the same time, the number of enterprises and organizations in the field of water transport remained unchanged.
The Republic of Karakalpakstan accounts for 4.6% of the total number of enterprises and organizations operating in the republic as a whole. In terms of districts and cities, the greatest growth was noted in Takhtakupyr (20.1%), Muynak (32.3%), Takhiatash (24.5%), Nukus (19.6%) and Shumanai (26.5%) districts. By types of economic activity, the highest growth rates were recorded in agriculture, forestry and fisheries, amounting to 41.9%.
Andijan region accounts for 7.8% of enterprises and organizations operating in the country. In January-February 2021, the growth rate of newly created enterprises and organizations, compared to the same period in 2020, amounted to 78.6%. In terms of regions, the highest growth rates were recorded in Balykchy (23.7%), Pakhtaabad (25.2%), Khojaabad (22.0%) and Shakhrikhan (16.8%) districts, and the highest in terms of economic activity. growth rates were recorded in agriculture, forestry and fisheries (43.4%).
5.9% of the total number of enterprises and organizations in the country operate in Bukhara region. In January-February 2021, the growth rate of newly created enterprises, compared to the same period of last year, amounted to 35.9%. By region, the highest growth rates were observed in Karaulbazar (34.8%), Bukhara (29.8%), Kagan (27.1%) and Vabkent (35.3%) districts, by type of economic activity the highest growth rates were noted in the field of agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 37.2%.
Jizzakh region accounts for 4.4% of the total number of enterprises and organizations operating in the country. In January-February 2021, the growth rate of newly created enterprises, compared to the same period in 2020, fell by 64.7%.
By region, the highest growth rates were observed in Zafarabad (34.5%), Dustlik (28.1%), Pakhtakor (26.9%) and Zarbdor (29.6%) districts, and by types of economic activity the highest growth rates noted in the field of agriculture, forestry and fisheries -37.4%
6.6% of enterprises and organizations operating in the country operate in Kashkadarya region. In January-February 2021, the growth rate of newly created enterprises and organizations, compared to the same period in 2020, amounted to 162.1%. By region, the highest growth rates were recorded in Mirishkor (30.1%), Chirakchi (25.2%), Guzar (25.6%) and Nishan (41.2%) districts, and by types of economic activity the highest growth rates recorded in the field of agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 69.1%.
Navoi region accounts for 4.2% of the total number of enterprises and organizations operating in the country. In January-February 2021, the growth rate of newly created enterprises and organizations, compared to the same period in 2020, fell by 12.1%.
By region, the highest growth rates were observed in Kanimekh (24.3%), Tamdy (36.3%), Kyzyltepa (19.0%) and Navbakhor (20.7%) districts, and by types of economic activity the highest growth rates noted in the field of trade - 26.1%.
The share of Namangan region is 6.5% of the total number of operating enterprises and organizations. In JanuaryFebruary 2021, the growth rate of newly created enterprises and organizations, compared to the same period in 2020, amounted to 7.8%.
Regionally, the highest growth rates were observed in Naryn (26.9%), Pap (23.3%), Mingbulak (21.6%) and Uchkurgan (21.0%) districts, and by types of economic activity the highest rates growth was noted in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 32.6%.
The number of enterprises and organizations in Samarkand region reached 8.3% of their total number in the country. In January-February 2021, the growth rate of newly created enterprises and organizations, compared to the same period in 2020, fell by 3.4%.
Regionally, the highest growth was noted in Koshrabad (127.4%), Kattakurgan (124.2%), Pastdargom (123.9%) and Bulungur (125.5%) districts, and by types of economic activity the highest growth rates recorded in the field of agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 42.0%.
In Surkhandarya region, 5.3% of enterprises and organizations operate. In January-February 2021, the growth rate of newly created enterprises and organizations, compared to the same period of last year, amounted to 20.3%. Regionally, the highest growth rates were observed in Kumkurgan (28.9%), Altynsay (40.8%), Muzrabad (35.4%) and Baysun (41.7%) districts, and by types of economic activity, high growth rates recorded in the field of agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 33.3%.
3.2% of enterprises and organizations operating in the country operate in Syrdarya region. In January-February 2021, the growth rate of newly created enterprises and organizations, compared to the same period in 2020, amounted to 63.7%. Regionally, the highest growth rates were recorded in Akaltyn (15.9%), Sardoba (25.1%), Mirzaabad (18.5%) and Saihunabad (9.4%) districts, and the highest in terms of economic activity. growth rates were recorded in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 21.1%.
The share of Tashkent region accounts for 9.6% of the total number of operating enterprises and organizations. In January-February 2021, the growth rate of newly created enterprises and organizations, compared to the same period in 2020, fell by 4.3%.
As for the regions, the highest growth rates were observed in Akkurgan (23.8%), Kuyichirchik (26.3%), Urtachirchik (10.2%) and Chinaz (19.7%) districts, and by type of economic activity the highest growth rates were recorded in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 26.4%.
Ferghana region has 8.8% of the total number of enterprises and organizations operating in the country. In January-February 2021, the growth rate of newly created enterprises and organizations, compared to the same period in 2020, amounted to 40.4%.
By region, the highest growth rates were recorded in Rishtan (30.0%), Yazyavan (23.6%), Tashlak (22.3%) and Ferghana (23.9%) regions, and by types of economic activity the highest growth rates were noted in the field of trade - 31.0%.
Khorezm region accounts for 4.6% of the total number of operating enterprises and organizations. In January-February 2021, the growth rate of newly created enterprises and organizations, compared to the same period in 2020, reached 68.9%.
Regionally, the highest growth rates were observed in Yangibazar (19.2%), Koshkupir (23.7%), Bagat (20.2%) and Gurlen (15.8%) districts, and by types of economic activity the highest rates growth was noted in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 33.9%.
In the city of Tashkent, 20.2% of enterprises and organizations of their total number in the country operate. In January-February 2021, the growth rates of newly created enterprises and organizations, compared to the same period in 2020, decreased by 8.9%.
By region, the highest growth rates were observed in Almazar (13.1%), Bektemir (13.1%), Uchtepa (12.0%) and Chilanzar (14.1%) districts, and by type of economic activity the highest growth rates were noted in the field of trade - 23.6%.
