Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In January-September 2020, the number of newly created enterprises and organizations in Uzbekistan made up 71,744, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
The largest number of newly created enterprises and organizations falls on the city of Tashkent (10 786), Samarkand (6 558), Surkhandarya (6 395) and Andijan (6 360) regions.
At the same time, the largest number of newly created enterprises and organizations by type of economic activity fell on trade (25,998), industry (14,566) and agriculture, forestry and fishery (11,892).
As of 1 October 2020, the total number of operating industrial enterprises amounted to 80,023, an increase over the same period last year by 16.6% or 11,407 units.
Of the total number of operating industrial enterprises and organizations, 75 194 micro-enterprises, 4 036 small enterprises.
As of 1 October 2020, the number of operating family businesses amounted to 39.6 thousand, which is 15.4 thousand or 163.9% more than the same period last year.
Including, 13.8 thousand family businesses operate in the industrial sector, 11.5 thousand in the trade sector, 7.3 thousand in the field of accommodation and food services, 5.6 thousand in agriculture.
The number of operating enterprises and organizations with the participation of foreign capital as of October 1, 2020 amounted to 11.3 thousand. This figure increased by 1.8 thousand or 18.1% compared to the same period last year.
In January-September 2020, 1,237 new enterprises and organizations with the participation of foreign capital were created in the republic.
