Number of International Students in Uzbekistan Rises by 51.5%

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From January to October 2025, a total of 33,287 international students arrived in Uzbekistan for educational purposes, according to the National Statistics Committee.

Compared to the same period in 2024, the number of students increased by 11,307, representing a growth of 51.5%.

India leads in student numbers with 14,322, followed by Turkmenistan with 8,348 and Tajikistan with 2,323 students. Countries with the fewest students include Russia (158), the United Kingdom (153), Jordan (175), and Afghanistan (280).

Other countries account for 1,431 international students. Major sources also include Pakistan (1,620), China (1,254), South Korea (806), Kyrgyzstan (696), Egypt (498), the Philippines (461), the United States (429), and Turkey (333).

These figures indicate growing global interest in pursuing education in Uzbekistan.
