No Uzbek citizens among victims of Mecca accident

The statement of the ministry reads: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan informs that there were no citizens of Uzbekistan among the victims of the tragic incident caused by the collapse of a construction crane on the mosque "Al Haram" in Mecca on 11 September 2015 at 17:10 local time.”

The Committee on religious affairs of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan said that all pilgrims from Uzbekistan are continuing to perform Hajj pilgrimage.

A large construction crane toppled over and crashed into the Grand Mosque in the holy city of Mecca on Friday. About 107 people died and 240 were injured in the result of the accident. Local authorities blamed strong wind for the accident.
