Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Amendments have been made in Uzbekistan to the regulations governing the notification procedure for events held by non-governmental nonprofit organizations (NGOs), Norma reports.

According to the new amendments, the scope of NGO activities subject to notification now includes not only traditional meetings and conferences but also the organization of foreign trips by NGO representatives, if such visits are connected to their statutory activities.

If such foreign trips are planned, the organization is required to notify the relevant justice department no later than seven days before the trip begins.

The notification must specify the purpose of the trip, the exact address where the meeting or event will take place, the documentary basis for the trip, the sources of its funding with clarification of their nature, as well as any other relevant information.

The new requirements will come into force in August of this year.
