Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- New Year’s events with the participation of students will not be held in secondary schools of Uzbekistan.
The corresponding instructions were given in a letter from 11 December, signed by the Deputy Minister of Public Education of Uzbekistan Dilshod Kenjaev.
The letter notes that the annual Presidential Christmas tree event will be held in the format of a tele-marathon on the Bolajon and Yoshlar channels. This decision was approved by the minutes of the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan from 16 November 2020.
This decision was made to preserve the health of students in the context of the COVID-19 epidemic.
The letter notes that schools are strictly prohibited from planning any events related to the celebration of the New Year with the participation of schoolchildren.
It is also forbidden to collect money from parents for New Year’s events, as well as decorate the foyer and classrooms of schools with an artificial tree and electric candles.
