New Tourist Village “Konigil-2” to Be Developed in Samarkand

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A project to create the tourist village “Konigil-2” will soon begin in Samarkand, serving as an extension of the already successful “Konigil” tourist complex.

The new facility will be located in a picturesque suburban area along the Siab River and will feature hotels, national cuisine restaurants, craft workshops, souvenir shops, cultural and entertainment zones, as well as landscaped walking routes. The architectural design will preserve Samarkand’s traditional styles, while the landscaping will pay special attention to environmental standards.

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore craft workshops and observe the making of ceramics, silk carpets, metal embossing, wood carving, and miniature painting. Interactive zones will also allow tourists to try their hand at traditional crafts under the guidance of skilled artisans.

“Konigil-2” is expected to become a new tourist hub, boosting visitor numbers to Samarkand, creating additional jobs, and strengthening the region’s tourism infrastructure.

“We will strive to ensure that every guest feels the atmosphere of old Samarkand and can see artisans at work firsthand,” said master artisan Ilkhom Bobomurodov.
