New Section of Gas Pipeline Connected in the Fergana Valley

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Construction of an additional section of the “Ahangaran–Pungon” main gas pipeline, nearly 22 kilometers long, has been completed in the Fergana Valley.

The new section, located in a mountainous area, is intended to enhance the reliability of gas supply in the region ahead of the autumn-winter season, according to relevant authorities.

To connect the new section to the network, gas supply through the main pipeline will be suspended for 36 hours starting at 12:00 on 5 September. The work is expected to be completed on 6 September.

During this period, in coordination with local authorities, gas supply to automotive refueling compressor stations and major consumers in the Fergana Valley will be temporarily limited. For residents, the volume of automobile gasoline available for sale will be increased.

Responsible services have assured that all necessary measures will be taken during the construction and installation work to ensure uninterrupted natural gas supply to the population.
