New Russian metro trains arrive in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Today, on 26 October, at the Tashkent-Central railway station, a presentation of modern Russian metro cars that arrived in Uzbekistan from Russia was held.

The delivery of this third batch of metro carriages became the final one from the side of Uzbekiston Temir Yollari, which completed the fulfillment of obligations to the Tashkent Metro.

Five metro trains of four-car design will be formed from the 20 cars, which have arrived. Note that with the arrival of a new batch of rolling stock of this modification, the number of modern trains in the Tashkent metro is 60 units of cars, i.e. 15 trains. In 2019, the first batch of 20 metro cars arrived in Tashkent. In August this year, Metrovagonmash sent another 20 metro cars to Uzbekistan.

All Russian metro cars that come to Uzbekistan are designed taking into account the peculiarities of the Tashkent metro. In general, the Tashkent metro and Metrovagonmash have been cooperating since the foundation of the metro in the capital, since 1977.

The contract for the manufacture of 40 metro cars of JSC "Metrovagonmash" and UE "Toshkent Metro" was signed in April this year. The sources of financing are loans from the State Corporation Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (GC VEB RF) and the Russian Export-Import Bank (JSC ROSEXIMBANK).

Metro trains series 81-765 / 766/767 in various modifications are operated in Moscow, Kazan, Baku and Tashkent. The rolling stock is equipped with inter-car crossings with a through passage for the unimpeded movement of passengers along the train. Double-leaf doors with a width of 1.4 meters are equipped with external light signaling for open and closed states.

The head carriages have spaces for wheelchairs. Each passenger compartment is equipped with touchscreen information monitors with interactive search capabilities for the destination station, route planning, and travel time calculation. Passenger cabins and driver’s cabs are equipped with video surveillance, air conditioning and air disinfection systems. The windshield of the driver’s cab is equipped with an adjustable manual sunscreen, taking into account the peculiarities of the elevated elevated Tashkent metro. The service life of metro cars is 30 years. The design speed of the metro train is 90 km / h.
