Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Development companies will now have to build schools at their own expense in new residential areas. This was announced by the Minister of Public Education of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov.

The Minister noted that the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev gave appropriate instructions to the khokims of the regions at a meeting on the implementation of the State Program for 2021.

According to him, developers will have to build schools at the rate of 1.5 students per apartment, or a 1500-seat school for every 1,000 apartments.

He noted that this will allow major repairs to be carried out in most schools in remote areas, within the existing funds of the investment program allocated to schools. According to him, at the expense of the cost of building one new school in the district center, at least 10-15 district schools can be repaired.
