Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Over the past few years, the metropolitan subway scheme has gone far beyond its previous border. Moreover, the reference point is taken to the elevated elevated directions. Metro lines are expanding their geography day by day, which means that new stations and new location addresses appear.
In order to improve the awareness of passengers in the directions of the metro, the specialists of the UE "Toshkent Metro" carry out a phased update and replacement of landmarks - signs, diagrams and other navigation.
In particular, signs to the new stations of the extended Yunusabad metro line were updated, the guidebook for the transition from the underground station "Dustlik" to the overground station "Dustlik-2" was changed on the Uzbekistan metro line. Also, on the signs of the stations of the Chilanzar line, new stations are gradually marked in the direction of the Sergeli metro line. At the moment, new navigation elements have been installed at the Almazar and Badamzar stations and partially on the Yunusabad metro line. Over the next three months, more than a thousand navigation elements will be installed, covering the entire current line of the Moscow metro.
It should be noted that the convenience of use and the correct placement of navigation are monitored by experts from a specially created group. To do this, they regularly make working detours along all metro lines.
Speaking about the names of the new metro stations, Toshkent Metro would like to remind once again that the Toshkent Metro station does not take part in the naming process, but it continues to receive appeals, mostly criticism, regarding the names assigned to the new stations (numbering).
The issue of naming stations is within the competence of the Tashkent City Commission on the assignment of names and renaming of geographical objects. In addition, the project has not yet been fully implemented. To date, out of the total number of planned metro stations, seven stations have been commissioned.
