Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The press service of the Andijan regional administration has announced the appointment of Elyorbek Rakhmatillaevich Karimov as the new hokim (mayor) of the city of Andijan.

Elyorbek Karimov was born in 1986 in the Izbaskan district. He graduated from the Andijan Institute of Agriculture and Agrotechnology in 2008.

Prior to this appointment, Karimov headed the administration of Izbaskan district.

He replaces Gofurjon Abdurakhmonov, who had served as hokim of Andijan since June 2022.
