New hydropower plant launched in Surkhandarya region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A new small hydropower plant (HPP) has been launched in the Surkhandarya region, according to a press release from the company Uzbekhydroenergy.
The plant will generate an average of 13.3 million kWh of electricity per year and has a capacity of 3 MW.
The US$3.3 million project is expected to provide electricity to 4,750 households.
