New governor of Navoi region appointed

An extraordinary session of Navoi regional Council of People’s Council was held on 25 December 2016. President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the session.

During the session, new governor of Navoi region was appointed. Qabul Tursunov was appointed as the governor of Navoi region. Prior to appointment he worked as chairperson of the Committee on budget and economic reforms of Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan.

He replaced Erkinjon Turdimov at this post. On 16 December, Turdimov was appointed at the governor of Surkhandarya region.
