Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- New edition of the Rules of the Road will be put into effect in Uzbekistan from 1 May.

In accordance with the rules, including in settlements, traffic is allowed at a speed of no more than 70 kilometers per hour, on roads around schools and kindergartens at a distance of up to 300 meters - no more than 30 kilometers per hour, and in residential areas and adjacent territories (on a land plot between residential buildings) - no more than 20 kilometers per hour. 

At the same time, based on the decision of the republican commission in the field of road safety, formed by the relevant resolution of the President, the maximum speed of traffic in areas with high traffic intensity and high population density in the cities of Tashkent, Nukus and regional centers can be set at 60 kilometers per hour.
