New Compensation and Reforms Announced for Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and National Guard Personnel

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Employees of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and National Guard will now receive compensation for each hour of night duty, amounting to 5% of their base salary.

As part of the adoption of modern policing practices, patrolling in areas of mass gatherings will be carried out using drones, enhancing both monitoring and public safety.

The Chilonzor District Department of Internal Affairs will begin accepting citizen complaints regardless of the location or jurisdiction of the issue. Approaching an officer on the street will now be treated equivalently to calling the emergency number “102,” simplifying public interaction with law enforcement.

For preventive inspectors, a modern, citizen-friendly uniform is being introduced. Their work will be digitized, including the procedure for obtaining a “spoken explanatory letter,” and the protocol will no longer serve as a KPI evaluation metric for inspectors.

In addition, the government emphasized the need to draft a new law on crime prevention, grounded in actual cases, while the updated Administrative Code will focus on preventive measures and improving the efficiency of law enforcement operations.
