New cement plant of Akhangarancement to start work from construction season of 2020

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- “EUROCEMENT group” is working on the construction of a cluster of building materials in the city of Akhangaran of ъ Tashkent region of Uzbekistan in accordance with the approved schedule. In response to the growing demand of the market of Uzbekistan, the possibility of starting production of a new cement plant 3 months earlier than planned - by the beginning of the high construction season of 2020 is being considered.

These and other issues were discussed in Tashkent at a meeting of representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan and President of the EUROCEMENT group Holding Mikhail Skorokhod. The meeting was attended by heads of relevant departments of the Cabinet of Ministers and state committees.

The parties discussed the construction of a new cement plant and the development of production lines of a cluster of building materials. The creation of a cluster at the Akhangarancement site was the result of agreements between the “EUROCEMENT group” and “Uzstroymaterialy”, signed in the presence of the first persons and heads of government of the two states. Investments in the project amount to US$200 million, of which more than US$110 million have already been invested.

“We pay great attention to the control of implementation of tasks set at the highest interstate level and we see the same attention to the project from the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan. The “EUROCEMENT group” aspires to implement in the shortest possible time plans to meet the country’s needs for high-quality building materials, new technologies, highly efficient, automated and environmentally friendly production. And I am glad that here we find mutual understanding and receive the necessary support,” Mikhail Skorokhod stressed.

The production capacity of the cluster of construction materials will produce more than 5 million tonnes of cement per year, which is about 25% of the projected market demand in 2020. Putting the new plant into operation will allow Uzbekistan to move from import dependence to export orientation in the cement industry. High quality products, including high-quality cement, will meet the needs of the most responsible construction projects in Uzbekistan.

Along with other productions of the cluster of building materials, which include fire-resistant brick, mineral wool products, high-quality concrete and reinforced concrete products, Ahangarancement will supply products for housing, infrastructure and industrial construction of Uzbekistan that meets all modern requirements for the quality and seismic stability of buildings.
