New Ambassador of Uzbekistan presents credentials to the President of Estonia
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 16 April, the new Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Timur Rakhmanov, whose residence is in Riga, presented his credentials to the President of Estonia, Alar Karis, Dunyo news agency reported.
Following the official ceremony, a dialogue took place during which the President of Estonia highly praised the positive dynamics of trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian relations with Uzbekistan, expressing interest in further strengthening cooperation in these areas.
Alar Karis also emphasized Uzbekistan's important role as a leading country in Central Asia, noting President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s contributions to enhancing regional cooperation and constructively resolving border issues that had previously been sources of tension.
The Estonian President expressed support for the wide-ranging reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan and reaffirmed Estonia’s readiness to expand bilateral cooperation.
It should be noted that Timur Rakhmanov arrived in Riga on 13 March 2024. Prior to his appointment, he served as the Consul General of Uzbekistan in Novosibirsk from 2021 to 2024.
Earlier, Rakhmanov presented his credentials to President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs (on 17 June 2024), President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda (on 11 February 2025), and President of Finland Alexander Stubb (on 1 April 2025).
