Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 25 March 2022, the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan held talks with a Masdar delegation (UAE) headed by the company's General Director Mohamed Jameel al Ramahi.

The parties discussed the progress of ongoing projects, as well as the development of cooperation in a number of areas, in particular, technologies for storing energy generated by renewable energy facilities.

Masdar successfully implemented the project of the first solar photovoltaic plant in Uzbekistan with a capacity of 100 MW, which was commissioned in August 2021 in Navoi region. The launch of the first industrial solar power plant in the country took place on the eve of the 30th anniversary of the Independence of Uzbekistan with the participation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

A company from the UAE plans to implement a number of projects in Uzbekistan in the field of renewable energy with a total capacity of 1,497 MW, including 220 MW in the Samarkand region, 220 MW in the Jizzakh region, 457 MW in the Surkhandarya region of the PPP and 500 MW of wind farms in the Navoi region.
