Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan Mr. Yoshinori Fujiyama paid a visit to the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED).
Greeting the distinguished guest, the rector of the university Komiljon Karimov noted the development of cooperation between Japanese educational institutions and the UWED, the organization of cycle lectures by Japanese professors for students and researchers, the activities of the Japanese Embassy in cultural and educational events. After that, the ambassador expressed gratitude to the leadership of the UWED for the development of Uzbek-Japanese relations and support of students' interest in the Japanese language and culture.
At a meeting at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, the parties also discussed organizational issues on the creation of a Japanese language department at the Center for Advanced Study of Foreign Languages at the UWED. In this center, civil servants, professors, teachers and youth can strengthen their knowledge of foreign languages.
Japanese Ambassador Yoshinori Fujiyama praised the Japanese language teaching project at the center and noted that it will create a basis for improving the quality and quantity of staff familiar with the language and culture of the Land of the Rising Sun. He expressed his readiness to cooperate with UWED in providing the necessary tools for his activities, qualified specialists in the Japanese language.
