Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 May 2020, Central Asia European Union negotiations were held with the participation of Afghanistan in the form of video conferencing.

The event was attended by Deputy Foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan Margulan Baimukhan, Kyrgyzstan Azizbek Madmarov, Tajikistan Muzaffar Huseynzoda, Turkmenistan Vepa Hadzhiev, Uzbekistan Sherzod Asadov and Secretary General of the European External Action Service Helga Maria Shmid, as well as Deputy Foreign Minister of Afghanistan Harun Chakhansuri.

The parties exchanged views on the prospects for the development of inter-regional cooperation and the organization of joint events, in particular, the agenda and schedule for the next meeting of the High Level Dialogue “Central Asia European Union” on politics and security in Tashkent.

Special attention was paid to the interaction of the countries of Central Asia, Afghanistan and the EU in the fight against the spread of coronavirus infection COVID-19 and its consequences.
