Negotiations between business circles of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan were held in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 30 May 2022, negotiations between the business circles of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan in the B2B format were held in the capital.

The event brought together more than 400 representatives of business circles of Uzbekistan and about 150 business representatives of the Tajik Republic. Also from the Uzbek side, representatives of a number of industry associations took part in it.

The event was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan J. Mamajanov, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan M. Rustamova.

It should be noted that the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan included entrepreneurs of leading enterprises, the main emphasis was on long-term and effective cooperation with Uzbek enterprises.

The main purpose of the event is to discuss the current state and prospects of bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as strengthening cooperation between the two countries in creating additional opportunities for entrepreneurs.

Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are in favor of further development of trade and economic relations, expansion of mutual supplies of demanded industrial products, creation of favorable conditions for stimulating mutual trade, and also count on the cardinal development of investment cooperation with the implementation of mutually beneficial projects and programs in priority sectors of the economy.

At the event, it was noted more than once that the Head of State and the government pay great attention to enhancing the role of the private sector in the country’s economy, in connection with which practical measures are being actively developed and implemented to improve the investment and business climate, reduce the tax burden on business, and strengthen mechanisms for legal protection of private property and foreign capital, as well as identifying new untapped economic reserves in the context of districts and cities of each region of the country in order to ensure their accelerated and balanced development.

Priority areas for establishing business partnerships between entrepreneurs of the two countries were listed. Among them are the industrial sector, the pharmaceutical industry, construction, agriculture and other sectors of the economy.

It is worth noting that the ongoing reforms and the created investment climate and opportunities for small businesses provide a huge potential for business development in Uzbekistan.

During the event, entrepreneurs demonstrated their products and services to partners, and exchanged views on their export potential and cooperation priorities.

Further, during the visit, the 5th meeting of the Uzbek-Tajik Business Council was also organized.

In his speech, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan J. Mamajanov noted that Uzbekistan and Tajikistan countries have mutually coinciding interests in expanding not only bilateral relations, but also in ensuring prosperity and stable development of all countries of the Central Asian region.

It was also noted that the joint events created conditions for strengthening business ties, mutual trade and cooperation in the investment field.

During the meeting, issues of establishing cooperation between the business circles of the two countries were discussed. Detailed information was also provided on promising areas in trade, economic and investment areas. 

The heads of the relevant industry associations, in the format of presentations, revealed in detail the investment, industrial and trade potential of each industry, and also spoke about the available mechanisms to support and stimulate the attraction of foreign investment and the implementation of projects with the participation of foreign capital.

Also, the participants of the event were presented with promising project proposals for further study with interested investors and entrepreneurs.

As a result of the event, the Protocol of the fifth meeting of the Uzbek-Tajik Business Council was signed, providing for measures to further enhance the participation of representatives of small businesses and private entrepreneurship at events held on the territory of the parties on the basis of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the two countries.
