Nearly One Million Tourists Visited Uzbekistan in January

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In January 2026, Uzbekistan welcomed nearly one million foreign tourists, according to the National Statistics Committee.

During the month, 950,278 people visited the country for tourism purposes, which is 271,600 more visitors, or a 40% increase, compared to the same period last year.

The majority of tourists came from neighboring countries: Kyrgyzstan — 282,798, Tajikistan — 244,373, and Kazakhstan — 207,858.

Other significant sources of tourism included Russia (69,070), Afghanistan (43,572), Turkmenistan (28,150), China (25,666), Türkiye (12,740), India (6,095), and South Korea (3,237).

These statistics reflect the active recovery of tourist flows and growing foreign interest in Uzbekistan’s cultural and historical attractions.
