Natural gas reserves at the new gas condensate fields Urtakum and Yuzhny Akkum increase by 13.018 billion cubic meters

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the beginning of the year, under the leadership of the Chairman of the Management Board of Uzbekneftegaz, the Program for the Development and Reproduction of the Hydrocarbon Raw Material Base of Uzbekneftegaz for 2020 was developed to carry out geological exploration.

The program envisages 3D seismic survey in the amount of 750 sq. km, the beginning of prospecting and drilling works on 4 new areas, 70.0 thousand linear meters of exploratory drilling, completion of the construction of 25 wells and an increase in natural gas reserves by 18.0 billion cubic meters, gas condensate reserves by 600.0 thousand tons.

Within the framework of the Program, in January-September 2020, 3D seismic works in the amount of 570 sq. meters were carried out at the Uchkir and Gazli areas. km (100%). Construction of 23 wells completed (100%). Exploration drilling has begun in 4 new areas (100%). Prospecting and drilling works were carried out in the amount of 62.632 thousand running meters (111.8%).

As a result of the discovery of new gas condensate fields Urtakum and South Akkum, natural gas reserves increased by 13.018 billion cubic meters (100.1%), gas condensate reserves by 552.3 thousand tons (122.7%).

By the end of the year, it is planned to carry out 3D seismic surveys in the amount of 750 sq. km (100%), start exploratory drilling at 5 new areas (125%), conduct exploratory drilling in the amount of 86.3 thousand linear meters (123.3%), complete construction of 35 exploration and parametric wells (140 %), natural gas reserves are expected to grow to 20 billion cubic meters (additional 2 billion) (111.1%), 620 thousand tons of gas condensate (additional 20 thousand) (103.3%).
