“Natsproektstroy” Shows Interest in Tashkent–Samarkand High-Speed Railway Project

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Russian company “Natsproektstroy” has expressed interest in the construction of the Tashkent–Samarkand high-speed railway, Alexey Krapivin, CEO of the group of companies, stated in an interview with Uzbekiston 24 TV channel.

On December 3, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a Russian delegation led by Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov. The meeting also involved the governors of Nizhny Novgorod and Omsk regions, Bashkortostan, and Krasnoyarsk Krai, as well as the governors of Fergana, Tashkent, Kashkadarya, and Surkhandarya regions.

During the talks, the parties discussed the practical implementation of previously reached agreements based on the “roadmap,” including increasing trade turnover and implementing projects in industry, energy, transport, metallurgy, chemistry, and other sectors.

Particular attention was given to coordinating efforts to maintain trade momentum, accelerate the execution of joint projects in priority sectors, and expand cooperation at the regional and business levels.

On the sidelines of the meeting, executives of leading Russian companies presented the president with detailed plans for projects in IT, energy, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, textiles, and the food sector.

Alexey Krapivin, CEO of Natsproektstroy, noted that the corporation is already involved in projects to develop the railway network and automate the Tashkent Metro.

Plans were presented to localize the production of train traffic management systems at the Chirchik Technopark, and the company expressed interest in further participation in the modernization of Uzbekistan’s railway network, including the concession-based Tashkent–Samarkand high-speed railway project, initiatives that received the president’s support.

Additionally, the company shared experience and technologies applied in the construction of Russia’s first high-speed railway between Moscow and Saint Petersburg, which could be used in the implementation of high-speed railway projects in Uzbekistan.

Earlier, on October 24, South Korean company Saman Engineering proposed three route options for the Tashkent–Samarkand high-speed railway.

Option 1: 282 km in length, average speed of 185.7 km/h, travel time 1 hour 26 minutes, with 74 bridges and 3 tunnels totaling 8.9 km.

Option 2: 291.7 km, speed 179.4 km/h, travel time 1 hour 33 minutes, 82 bridges and 1 tunnel 16 km long.

Option 3: over 302 km, average speed 166.9 km/h, travel time 1 hour 45 minutes, including 105 bridges and 2 tunnels totaling 9.6 km.
