Natixis and Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Transport Plan Aircraft and Train Fleet Renewal

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Transport, Jasurbek Choriev, held a meeting with Muhammad Kallala, Chief Executive Officer of Natixis, one of France’s leading corporate and investment banks, as well as Alexander Zakharchenko, the bank’s Chief Operating Officer for Central Asia.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed prospects for the development of the country’s aviation and railway systems, placing particular emphasis on plans to renew the national transport fleet. These include the potential acquisition of new aircraft and trains using financing solutions provided by Natixis.

The discussions also included presentations from the Uzbek airlines Qanot Sharq and Silk Avia. Special attention was paid to the modernization of railway infrastructure, including the introduction of high-speed and suburban trains.

For reference, Natixis is one of the largest corporate and investment banks in France. It was established in 2006 following the merger of Natexis Banque Populaire (part of the Banque Populaire group) and IXIS (part of the Caisse d’Epargne group). Today, Natixis operates as part of the French banking group BPCE.
