Nationwide Community Cleanup to Be Held in Uzbekistan on 13–14 March
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A nationwide charitable community cleanup, known as hashar, will take place across Uzbekistan on 13–14 March. During these two days, large-scale activities will be carried out throughout the country to improve neighborhoods, green public spaces, and clean communal areas.
According to a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan, the initiative will be held under the slogan “Improving the country begins with the mahalla.” The event is organized as part of the implementation of the Uzbekistan–2030 Strategy, within the Year of Mahalla Development and Society as a Whole, and under the nationwide “Yashil Makon” project.
The primary objective of the hashar is to enhance the condition of urban and rural environments, promote healthy lifestyles and sanitary awareness, and provide support to socially vulnerable groups during the holy month of Ramadan.
As part of the initiative, courtyards and residential buildings will be put in order, pilgrimage sites and cemeteries will be cleaned, children’s playgrounds will be improved, and landscaping and sanitation works will be carried out to ensure a comfortable and safe living environment for residents.
