National holiday of Azerbaijan observed in Tashkent

A solemn event dedicated to national holiday of Azerbaijan – Day of Republic – was observed in Tashkent. The Day of Republic is marked on 28 May in Azerbaijan.
Embassy of Azerbaijan in Uzbekistan organized the event. Representatives of diplomatic corps, accredited in Uzbekistan, cultural centers, public and mass media participated in the event.
Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan Huseyn Guliev spoke about the holiday. He recalled that Azerbaijan Democratic Republic was announced on 28 May 1918. He talked about modern development of Azerbaijan and its foreign policy.
He also briefed the participants on cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, including within the international organizations.
