Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 19 March 2021, the National Conference on the UNDP 2020 Human Development Report (HDR) was organized by the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction.

It was attended by members of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction, the Ministries of Education, Health, Agriculture, as well as the State Committee for Ecology and Environmental Protection, Uzhydromed and other relevant government agencies, representatives of the private sector and the developer community, analytical centers and academia.

First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Sodik Safoev, Adviser to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the development of economic sectors, implementation of investment and foreign trade policy Ravshan Gulyamov, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Norkulov, UNDP Resident Representative Matilda Dimovska, Assistant UNDP Administrator Mirjana Spolarich Egger attended the event.

During the plenary discussions, the participants shared their experience with experts on the state policy of Uzbekistan and incentives for the transition to a new norm of human development, the private sector and other issues.

It also provides information on HDR 2020 in Uzbekistan, especially in terms of recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic while reducing the pressure on natural resources and the environment.

As a result of the event, the results achieved, the main conclusions in the field of human development in Uzbekistan were considered.
