National Chamber of Commerce and Yonsei University hold talks

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The National Chamber of Innovative Healthcare of Uzbekistan and Yonsei University (Republic of Korea) held negotiations, at which they discussed areas of possible interaction.

The meeting with representatives of Yonsei University was organized on 27 January 2021 in an online format with the support of the Office of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Uzbekistan.

As the chairman of the National Chamber Rovshan Izamov noted, opening the meeting, the introduction of innovations into the healthcare system of Uzbekistan is the main task of this state structure, therefore, given the high rating of Yonsei University, which is one of the three most prestigious educational institutions of the Republic of Korea and the TOP-100 best universities in the world , there is every reason to establish fruitful cooperation.

The Republic of Korea attaches great importance to the new "Northern Project", which territorially includes the Republic of Uzbekistan, in its international cooperation at the present stage. At the same time, education and medicine are identified as the main priorities here.

This was noted during an online meeting by the assistant professor of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Yonsei University College of Medicine Yun Sang Chol and the teacher of this college Lee Ire.

Currently, Yonsei University has launched a joint project with the Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute (TashPMI). Representatives of the Korean University noted that the project is designed for 4 years and the support of the National Chamber of Innovative Health of Uzbekistan can help achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness of the plans.

As, in turn, R. Izamov noted, modern methods of healthcare in the Republic of Korea can have a great positive impact on the level of regional medicine in Uzbekistan. In particular, webinars on the most relevant topics are in great demand among doctors in the regions of the country today. Thus, the National Chamber, in partnership with TIKA (Turkey), at the end of December 2020, organized a webinar on laparoscopic surgery, in which about 500 doctors from all over Uzbekistan took part. The territorial divisions of the National Chamber took part in the preparation of such a large audience.

This experience must be continued, since the online format allows almost all interested healthcare professionals to improve their professional level, communicate with international experts, and receive answers to their questions.

During the negotiations, the topic of an innovative approach to nursing education was actively discussed. On the basis of the Korean model in this area, it is possible to radically increase the role and importance of nursing personnel and the qualifications of their specialists. Kim Sang Hee and Choi Eunkyung, associate professors of the College of Nursing of Yonsei University, took part in the discussion of this issue.

The parties noted the importance of implementing a pilot project on an innovative model of nursing education based on one of the colleges in Uzbekistan, an agreement was reached on further development of this area.

They also discussed the possibility of joint work in the development of Clinical Protocols, the work on which is coordinated by the National Chamber. Experts from both sides were unanimous in the opinion that a thorough study of Clinical protocols, achieving their maximum practicality and compliance with international standards are the basis for improving the quality of medical services for the population.

R. Izamov also noted the experience of the National Chamber in attracting international accreditation bodies in the field of healthcare to Uzbekistan. Thus, on the initiative of the National Chamber, Tashkent was visited by representatives of JCI (Joint Commission International) - a company that accredits medical institutions according to certain quality and safety standards for medical institutions. As a result of visiting a number of clinics, JCI experts provided the necessary recommendations for preparing for accreditation, which initiated this process for interested medical organizations.

The importance of international accreditation and certification was also confirmed by representatives of Yonsei University, who proudly noted that the Medical Clinic at this university has also successfully passed international accreditation and is ready to share this experience necessary in modern medicine.

The Korean partners noted their great interest in the innovative approaches of the National Chamber and the need for a detailed study of the directions of the upcoming partnership.
