Narrow format SCO summit begins in Samarkand

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in narrow format began in Samarkand.

The agenda includes a wide range of issues. The focus will be, in particular, on the prospects for deepening cooperation in the context of the global transformations taking place in the world, the tasks of adapting the SCO to new geopolitical realities, modernizing the organization's activities with an emphasis on improving mechanisms to counter challenges and threats to security, strengthening foreign policy coordination, and increasing the effectiveness of joint work in the field of economy.

After the narrow format meeting, an extended session will be held. As a result of the summit, the SCO Samarkand Declaration will be signed.
