Namangan Region to Establish New Tourist Complex at Kamchik Pass

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A major tourism development project is set to begin in Namangan Region, centered on the Kamchik Pass, a symbolic gateway of the region’s “second renaissance.” The initiative includes the construction of a modern road and a 90-hectare recreation complex.

The project is being implemented by the Austrian-Swiss group Doppelmayr / Garaventa, a global leader in cable car and lift systems, as well as passenger and cargo transport solutions. The company has designed over 15,000 cableways in 96 countries and possesses extensive technological expertise.

The Hokim (Governor) of Namangan Region, Shavkatjon Abdurazzoqov, met with representatives of Doppelmayr / Garaventa — Johannes Triebnik, Valeriy Yashin, and Yevgeniy Kuprin — to discuss the project’s significance for tourism development and the specific facilities planned for the complex.

The project’s financing will be provided by one of Namangan’s leading entrepreneurs, Jobirkhon Kamalitdinov, head of Aisha Group.
