Namangan Builds Underground Waste Storage Complex
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Namangan in Namangan Region is establishing an underground waste storage complex on Obi Hayot Street, which is being reconstructed for 24/7 operation.
The complex will feature six underground containers, each with a 500-kilogram capacity. Three containers are already operational, providing a total storage capacity of up to 3 tons of waste. When the large containers reach full capacity, a special system automatically sends a signal, prompting specialized equipment to transport the waste to a landfill.
Shavkat Abdurazzokov, the governor of Namangan Region, praised the innovative approach to waste collection and emphasized the need to expand similar facilities across the region. Additional complexes are planned for Yanginaman and Davlatabad districts.
The underground complexes aim to improve waste management efficiency and enhance sanitary conditions in the city.
