Nagoya Delegation, Led by Mayor, Plans Visit to Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan with Makio Yamada, Director of the Department of International Cooperation of Nagoya City Hall, to discuss the development of interregional cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan, according to Dunyo news agency.

At the start of the talks, the Japanese side emphasized that the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Japan in December 2025 had provided a significant impetus for further expanding bilateral relations and promoting cooperation in new promising areas.

In this context, Makio Yamada outlined plans for a visit to Uzbekistan by a delegation from Nagoya, led by Mayor Ichiro Hirosawa. It was noted that members of the Nagoya City Council would also be part of the delegation.

During the upcoming visit, the Japanese side intends to discuss further development and deepening of cooperation already established between the cities of Nagoya and Tashkent, as well as explore new opportunities for expanding interregional ties.
