NACAG to support implementation of emission control technologies in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with a delegation led by Torsten Brezina, head of the Secretariat of the German Nitric Acid Climate Action Group (NACAG), along with representatives from the Department for Coordinating the Transition to a Green Economy and Development.
The discussions focused on the progress of the project aimed at reducing nitric acid emissions in Uzbekistan and future plans in this area.
NACAG representatives provided an overview of ongoing measures to curb nitrogen oxide emissions at nitric acid production facilities in the country and outlined upcoming initiatives under the project.
The foreign delegation expressed its readiness to support the development of long-term emission control measures, integrate the sector into Uzbekistan’s national climate strategies, and provide equipment and technologies for emission reduction on a grant basis.
Additionally, the parties discussed the implementation of nitrogen oxide emission monitoring systems at chemical industry enterprises.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation.
The Nitric Acid Climate Action Group (NACAG) was established as part of the 2015 Paris Climate Conference and operates under the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ). Its mission is to facilitate the reduction of nitrous oxide (N₂O) emissions in nitric acid production worldwide.
