Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 20 September, the seventh round of political consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs of Uzbekistan and Oman took place in Muscat, Dunyo news agency reported.
The delegations of the parties were headed by Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov and Deputy Foreign Minister of Oman for Diplomacy Sheikh Khalifa al-Khorisi.
At the consultations, the sides exchanged views on the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in the political sphere, regional and international topical issues.
An agreement was reached on the development of cooperation within the framework of international and regional structures, in particular the UN and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
As part of the consultations, the issue of further expanding the legal framework for cooperation was also considered.
At the talks, special attention was paid to assessing the current state of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries and determining its prospects.
In this regard, an exchange of views took place on measures to dynamically increase the volume of mutual trade and accelerate investment cooperation, and cardinally diversify its content.
