Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Number of MTS Uzbekistan subscribers comprised 5.97 million at the end of March, Russia’s MobileTele Systems (MTS) said.

MTS Uzbekistan attracted 170,000 new subscribers in March or the growth rate of subscribers’ base in March made up 2.9%. MTS Uzbekistan had 5.8 million subscribers as of 28 February 2009.

The company’s subscribers’ base increased by 2.41 million new users or 67.9% compared to the end of March 2008.

As earlier reported, MTS Uzbekistan said on 14 April its subscribers’ base already reached 6 million point.
