MPs share opinions on visit of Uzbek leader to South Korea

The current visit of Islam Karimov to the Republic of Korea is further evidence of continuing strong mutually beneficial and friendly relations between our countries in various fields, including in the international sphere.
The parties support the internal and external policies of each other. In particular, two countries cooperate closely within the framework of the United Nations and in other international and financial organizations. Supporting each other have confirmed the similarity of positions and approaches in all areas of bilateral cooperation, as well as regarding discussed issues of regional and international politics. Thus, the Uzbek side supports the concept of "Eurasian Initiative" and in this direction the parties intend to continue cooperation in the field of transport and communication systems.
Uzbekistan supported peaceful, deeply thought-out and balanced foreign policy of the Republic of Korea aimed at maintaining peace and security on the Korean peninsula and in the whole region. For its part, the Republic of Korea appreciates the actions of our country, aimed at strengthening stability in Central Asia, a policy of non-alignment to military-political blocs, the development of mutually beneficial cooperation with all countries.
The Uzbekistan and Republic of Korea exchanged opinion on developing inter-parliamentary relations at all levels. In particular, it should be noted that both sides agreed on the issues of rational use of water resources.
This visit has become a historic event in the evolution of relations, which uplifts the bilateral cooperation to a qualitatively new level.

The State visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Korea is a logical and consistent extension of dynamic strategic partnership and cooperation between two countries.
Relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea have consistently developed on the basis of the Joint Declaration on the Enhancement and Expansion of Strategic Partnership. These relationships are constantly being strengthened and substantially enriched by regular contacts between the two Heads of States and common interests of our peoples.
Islam Karimov stressed that the Republic of Korea is a reliable and time-tested strategic partner for Uzbekistan. These relationships are based on openness, mutual trust and respect.
Therefore, the current Uzbek-South Korean relations are thoroughly thought-out and mutually beneficial which meet the interests of the peoples and businesses of the two countries.
Our countries have accumulated rich experience of successful and mutually beneficial trade, economic and investment cooperation. The Republic of Korea is one of the largest trade partners of our country. Previously and newly signed agreements gave a new impetus to bilateral cooperation between two countries. In particular, the trade turnovers have been surpassing 2 billion U.S. dollars in recent years.
The members of UzLiDeP faction consider it important to continue using modern technology to create new and modernization of existing production facilities in Uzbekistan.
The South Korean side expressed its interest to invest in the petrochemical, food processing, tourism and trade as well as to buy securities companies in Uzbekistan.
Overall, this visit became a great opportunity for further development the bilateral cooperation in all spheres.

The Republic of Korea is a dynamic and forward-looking modern state and it is among the leading countries for all indicators of economic development. At the initiative of the President of Park Geun-Hye successfully implemented the model of "creative economy", which contributes to the further dynamic development of the Korean economy.
In this regard, President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov stressed that South Korea has earned respect around the world as a highly developed state with high economic, scientific and technical, innovative and intellectual potential.
In our country is paid particular attention to the development of information and communication technologies. In accordance with the Comprehensive program of development of national information and communication system in Uzbekistan for 2013-2020 is carried out consistent work on a wide introduction of modern information technologies in all spheres of life. In particular, South Korean experts assist in the development of "electronic government", preparation and skills development of our country.
In general, within the visit of President Islam Karimov to Seoul signed 60 documents relating to trade, economic, investment, and financial and technical cooperation and other spheres, total cost of these documents makes up about US$7.7 billion.
The UzLiDeP faction on the basis of their political platform and election program supports issues to attract modern technology from Korean to create new and modernization of existing production facilities in Uzbekistan.
In our view, recently signed documents will serve as the basis for further development the bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea.

The current visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov to the Republic of Korea was the first visit after the recent presidential elections in our country. It highlights the scope and prospects for expanding multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, as well as great importance attached by Uzbekistan to further strengthening the multifaceted relations of strategic partnership.
It should be noted that in Uzbekistan has been operating Korean Education Center since 1992 where 360 people are receiving free knowledge every year.
Opening in October 2014 Inha University branch in Tashkent has become a vivid example of fruitful cooperation in this direction.
Also at the Tashkent University of information technologies are training center "e-Government", Uzbek-South Korean information technology center.
In December 2014 within a joint project with the National Library of the Republic of Korea opened a reading room "Window in Korea" at the National Library of Uzbekistan
In South Korean University of Foreign Studies Daegu and Busan opened departments where learning the Uzbek language. Uzbekistan universities are closely conducting with more than 30 research institutions of the Republic of Korea.
Demonstrating the strong friendship between our peoples is the opening Seoul Park in Tashkent as well as South Korean artists are actively participating in the traditional international music festival "Sharq Taronalari" in Samarkand.
UzLiDeP faction considers that the signed agreement will allow the strengthening of friendship and strategic partnership between our countries.
