Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Annual leave is a time of rest to restore working capacity for a certain number of days in a row, which is established by labor legislation and is provided to an employee of the organization every year, while keeping the employee of the enterprise, place of work (position) and average earnings. Thus, during this period of time, the employee of the enterprise is released from the performance of his job duties and has the right to use the vacation at his own discretion.
According to labor legislation, 1 January is New Year, 8 March is International Women's Day, 21 March is the Navruz holiday, 9 May is the Day of Remembrance and Honor, 1 September is Independence Day, 1 October is the Day of Teachers and Mentors, 8 December is the Day of the Constitution Of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the first days of Ramadan and Eid al-Adha are holidays.
But if the day off falls on Sunday, will the day off be added to Monday? What about those who are asked or forced to work on the weekends? How should they behave?
In the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, at a regular meeting of the UzLiDeP faction, during the discussion of the draft law "On approval of the Labor Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan", the deputies raised similar issues.
As emphasized, the proposed bill provides that if the day off falls on a holiday, the day off will be postponed to the next day after the holiday. This means that if a public holiday falls on a Sunday, then Monday is added to that day.
It should be noted that the bill was removed from the agenda of the meeting of the UzLiDeP faction in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis on 7 October, given the openness of the questions of the deputies and the need for its revision.
Over the past period, the working group discussed and finalized the draft law with the participation of experts and specialists, based on the opinions and proposals expressed during the preparation of the draft law for the second reading.
The deputies said that the adoption of the new edition of the Labor Code will create a number of conveniences in practice. This will ensure a balance of interests of workers and employers, taking into account the requirements of a market economy, increase their involvement in social partnership and encourage the parties' interest in labor productivity.
The meeting also made a number of proposals and recommendations for improving the bill, and after a heated debate, the bill was approved.
