MPs discuss execution of convention “On Rights of Child” in Tashkent
At the session, it was noted that Uzbekistan pays priority importance to issues of protecting rights and interests of children, their education.
It was said that over 31% of population of Tashkent are under ages. There are 287 general schools, 79 professional colleges, 41 academic lyceums and 441 kindergartens in Tashkent, as well as several institutions, which work with children with special needs, the press service of the Legislative Chamber said.
Over 6,800 children are studying at 30 children schools of music and art. There are also sport sections at schools and specialized sport schools, which help to strengthen health of children.
At the session, the participants discussed issues of strengthening protection of children, activities of institutions on preventing law violations and neglect among children, as well as strengthening their responsibilities.
