MPs approve bill to strengthen fight against economic crimes
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During the latest plenary session, the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis reviewed in the second reading a draft law aimed at improving the system for combating economic crimes.
The bill includes amendments to the Criminal Procedural Code, the Administrative Liability Code, and the Budget Code, clarifying the powers of the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the General Prosecutor’s Office in the investigation of economic crimes and the implementation of state financial control.
The adoption of this bill is aimed at strengthening the powers of state bodies in the investigation of crimes and the enforcement of budgetary legislation, as well as ensuring the accurate and consistent application of legal norms. This will support the legal framework for reforms in the judicial and legal spheres.
The bill was approved by deputies in the third reading.
