Moscow Hosts Central Asia–Russia Consultations on Implementing the 2025–2027 Joint Action Plan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 22 January, consultations were held in Moscow in the Central Asia–Russia format, focusing on practical cooperation and the implementation of the Joint Action Plan for 2025–2027. The plan was approved following the second Central Asia–Russia Summit, which took place on 9 October 2025, in Dushanbe.

The meeting also addressed initiatives proposed by the leaders of Central Asian countries during that summit.

The consultations were attended by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin, Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Yermukhamet Konuspayev, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Alma Imangaziev, Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bobur Usmanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Tajikistan to Russia Davlatshoh Gulmahmadzoda, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Russia Esen Aydogdyev, as well as deputy heads of relevant Russian executive authorities.

The sides held detailed discussions on ways to systematically implement the Joint Action Plan and the above-mentioned initiatives, with particular attention given to six-party cooperation in trade and economic relations, transport and logistics, energy, healthcare, cultural and humanitarian ties, and environmental protection. The meeting was conducted in a friendly and constructive atmosphere.

During the consultations, a decision was made to establish a working group on energy cooperation between Russia and the countries of Central Asia under the Russian Ministry of Energy.

Russian Deputy Energy Minister Roman Marshavin stated that the working group would enable issues of cooperation in the fuel and energy sector to be addressed in a six-party format.

“The members of the working group will carry out systematic work to implement the action plan approved by the heads of state,” Marshavin noted.
