More than 17,000 Uzbek Citizens Repatriated from Middle Eastern Countries
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As of 07:00 on 7 March, 17,152 Uzbek citizens have been repatriated to Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
The largest number of repatriates came from Saudi Arabia, totaling 14,502 people, followed by the United Arab Emirates with 2,356, Iran with 42, Qatar with 218, Bahrain with 27, and Oman with 7.
The repatriation process is being conducted systematically and in stages. Currently, evacuations are primarily taking place from countries whose airspace is open to civilian flights.
On 7 March, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Doha, in coordination with the Qatari government and the Uzbek Embassy in Saudi Arabia, organized the evacuation of 334 citizens from Qatar.
