More than 1,500 mahallas of Uzbekistan to be provided with drinking water

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Resolution of the President "On additional measures to increase the level of provision of the population with drinking water supply and sewerage services"  was adopted.

According to the Resolution, in 2022-2025:

1,545 mahallas of the republic, whose drinking water supply is in serious condition (of which 140 in 2022), will be provided with drinking water. In total, 444.6 billion soums will be allocated for these purposes from local budgets, including 106.3 billion soums this year;

Drinking water will be provided to 1,691 schools, 885 pre-school educational organizations and 377 medical institutions. It is planned to allocate a total of 50 billion soums for the implementation of these activities this year, and from 2023 annually from the republican and local budgets in equal shares - 50 billion soums, a total of 100 billion soums;

in 2022-2024, households in 2,660 mahallas across the country will be provided with drinking water. JSC "Uzsuvtaminot" will allocate 180 billion soums for these purposes.

Also, according to the Resolution, drinking and waste water supply facilities (17 facilities), not completed or not put into operation in previous years of construction and installation works, are put into operation in full.

From 1 January 2023:

replacement of water metering devices with an expired verification period for new ones for the population is carried out at the expense of JSC “Uzsuvtaminot” and territorial water supply enterprises;

it is prohibited to import and install on the territory of the republic water meters and their additional means that do not meet technical requirements;

in the case of commissioning of drinking water supply facilities on a turnkey basis (with the installation of metering devices and supplying drinking water to households), at the request of citizens, it is allowed to conclude contracts through public service centers or directly with JSC “Uzsuvtaminot” and sealing metering devices.

Starting from 1 January 2023, consumers who are a legal entity and carry out entrepreneurial activities without forming a legal entity are required to install modern water meters with the function of remote data transmission to territorial water supply enterprises.

Starting from 1 January 2024, settlements for drinking water supply and sewerage services with consumers who are a legal entity or carry out entrepreneurial activities without forming a legal entity, who have not installed modern water meters with the function of remote data transmission to territorial water supply enterprises, are carried out as with consumers who do not provided with water meters.

According to the Resolution, a Metrological Service for verification, dismantling and installation of metering devices (meters) of cold and hot water, as well as its territorial branches, will be created at JSC "Uzsuvtaminot".
