Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As a result of operational-search activities carried out by employees of the State Security Service in Surkhandarya region, as part of the fight against illegal drug trafficking, a large batch of them was seized.

In particular, a local resident, born in 1982, was detained upon receipt of 28 kg 895 grams pf Opium and 2 kg of hashish, and in another case, brothers, born in 1962 and 1970, were detained, previously convicted of a crime related to drug trafficking, who, for the purpose of further sale, acquired 9 kg 161 grams of opium and 446 grams of heroin.

It should be noted that the seized drugs were brought into the territory of our country by Afghan drug couriers.

In Sariosiyo district, a local resident, born in 1990, was detained, who received 28 kg 506 grams of opium imported by Tajik drug couriers and hidden in a cache in a mountainous area of the region.

In the course of an operational event, carried out in the city of Termez by the officers of the SGB department in Surkhandarya region, together with the regional customs department, three citizens born in 1969, 1970 and 1990 were detained, while selling 481 grams of opium for US$9400.

During an operational event, carried out by employees of the territorial departments of the State Security Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Customs Committee, not far from the post of the Manguzar road patrol service, a Spark car, heading towards the city of Termez, was stopped.

When inspecting a car in the bags of passengers - a resident of the city of Dushanbe, a citizen of Tajikistan, born in 1987 and a local citizen living in Denau district, born in 1985, the officers found and seized in a procedural order 45 kg 913 grams of hashish of Afghan origin.

As a result of the carried out operational measures, in general, 67 kg 43 grams of opium, 47 kg 913 grams  of hashish and 446 grams of Heroin were seized.

Currently, on these facts, criminal cases have been initiated under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, investigative actions are underway.
