Monopolies for more than 25 types of activities to be abolished

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In accordance with the New Development Strategy of Uzbekistan for 2022-2026, as part of ensuring economic stability:

Measures will be taken to reduce inflation to 9 percent in 2022 and 5 percent in 2023, and the budget deficit to 3 percent. 

By the end of 2026, the share of the private sector in banking assets will reach 60 percent.

From 2023, value added tax will be reduced to 12 percent, and income tax for businesses such as banking, finance and telecommunications will be reduced to 15 percent.

By 2026, energy efficiency will increase by 20 percent and harmful emissions will be reduced by 10 percent.

In areas with “difficult” conditions, until 1 January 2025, a system of paying turnover tax for new entrepreneurs at a rate of 1 percent, land tax, property tax at a rate of 1 percent will be introduced.

From 1 July 2025, a unified electronic register of all mandatory requirements for entrepreneurship will be launched.

Until 1 April 2022, obtaining a license and other permits will be simplified.

In particular, it will be possible to engage in certain activities in a mobile mode, on vehicles.

Monopolies for more than 25 types of activities (supply of liquefied gas, storage of petroleum products, etc.) will be abolished.
