Modern methods of UzLiDeP’s work with youth

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The program documents of UzLiDeP stipulate that the party speaks against to the ideas and ideologies that hinder progress as well as UzLiDeP calls to be always alert and attentive, treasure our peaceful life in Uzbekistan. In this context, the most important issues are to protect young people from negative influence of the “mass culture”, various ideological and information attacks and different sorts of harmful information and the formation in youth the Internet culture, upbringing of harmoniously developed generation with sober outlook on life.

In order to implement the above tasks, the party structures are conducting systematic work to improve the interaction between the “Youth wing” of UzLiDeP and youth of the country because in the current century of globalization where internet technologies are entering all aspects of our life, there is an urgent need to protect young people from the threats and challenges, safeguard them from external ideological attacks that have destructive influence on their minds.

In this regard, UzLiDeP in close cooperation with the country’s leading social scientists from the National University of Uzbekistan conducted a sociological study to determine the state of information protection of youth.

Results of this study was discussed at the round table organized by the Executive Committee of Political Council of UzLiDeP under the project “Safe Internet” on 9 October 2015 at the National University of Uzbekistan named after Ulugbek. It was attended by deputies and members of UzLiDeP, professors and young scientists, students and activists of “Youth wing”.

It was noted that in the present conditions of globalization cannot imagine youth life without the Internet. In particular, over the past ten years, the number of Internet users has increased by 10 times in our country: if in 2007 the number of Internet users amounted to one million, today the figure has reached 12 million 200 thousand people which represents 32 per cent of the population.

In this case, UzLiDeP conducts the project “Safe Internet” to improve the efficiency of information and information resources and library centers, the use of positive foreign legislative experience to effectively protect youth from information that negatively affect their health and spiritual and moral development.

Within the project was conducted a survey in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, all regions and Tashkent city with the participation of more than 2,6 thousand respondents of youth, the results of which are summarized and analyzed by social scientists. The study showed that half of Internet users use the Internet via a mobile phone, one-third prefers to access through personal computers, and one in six uses the services of Internet cafe.

Representatives of UzLiDeP “Youth wing” noted that they via implementing party project will contribute to develop of the media-culture and media-literacy among youth from information attacks.
