Mirziyoyev: Uzbekistan is interested in cooperation with China

On 2 January 2017, 25 years turned to establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and China.

Uzbek leader cordially congratulated the Chinese leader and people with the full and fruitful cooperation and the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and China.

Mirziyoyev noted that relations between Uzbekistan and China starches to the time of the Great Silk Road. He said that the relations between two states had unique trade, scientific and humanitarian exchanges.

President of Uzbekistan said that China, which is developing dynamically and have great authority in the world, became close and reliable partner for Uzbekistan. He said that two states are linked with firm traditions of friendship, mutual understanding and respect.

On the initiative of the Chinese President, relations between Uzbekistan and China became mature, fully intelligent and mutually beneficial, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said. He added that the countries established long-term and multilateral cooperation.

He said that Uzbekistan supports foreign policy, police of single China, measures on fighting terrorism, extremism and separatism.

Uzbekistan is interested in further expansion of constructive cooperation with China within the UN, SCO and other international organizations and financial institutions, Mirziyoyev said.

Uzbek leader stated that firm agreement-legal base became foundation for bilateral cooperation, while the agreement on friendship and cooperation is core element. He noted that the joint statement, signed within the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping in June 2016 to Uzbekistan, lifted the level of the Uzbek-Chinese relations to new level - strategic partnership.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that development of trade-economic, financial-technical and investment cooperation deserve special attention. Uzbekistan highly rates support of China in implementation of the programmes of reforming and modernizing economy. He noted that the Chinese side participated in realization of large high technologic investment projects in industry, energy, transport, telecommunications, agriculture, etc.

Launch of activities of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) opens new opportunities for economic cooperation.

Uzbek President expressed his assurance that upcoming meetings at high level will provide opportunity to the leaders of two states to continue open dialogue and give new stimulus to development of the bilateral relations.

Uzbek leader congratulated the Chinese President and people on New Year and wished strong health, happiness and success in the state activities, prosperity and well-being to the people of China.
