Mirziyoyev Reviews the “Solutions Atlas” — a New Strategic Document for the Development of Tashkent and New Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the presentation of the “Solutions Atlas,” a strategic document developed to guide the systematic development of both the city of Tashkent and the emerging New Tashkent.

The country’s economic growth is increasingly reflected in the rapidly transforming appearance of the capital. Active construction and infrastructure works are currently underway in all districts of the city. The recent launch of New Tashkent's development has accelerated this momentum, transforming both cities into a unified urban space poised to become a future metropolis.

To ensure balanced urban development, a master plan for Tashkent through 2045 was adopted. This document sets out key parameters for spatial planning, the layout of engineering and transport infrastructure, and the delineation of protected and green zones subject to special regulation.

The creation of the “Solutions Atlas” is a natural continuation of this master plan. It serves as a practical tool that defines standards for shaping the urban environment and establishes unified visual and technical guidelines for the architectural appearance of buildings, street infrastructure, and public amenities.

Presented in five volumes, the atlas includes detailed recommendations for the design, placement, and maintenance of elements within the urban landscape.

For example, it was noted that road construction and repairs in Uzbekistan traditionally occur only up to the so-called "red line" of the roadway. However, international best practices recommend a different approach — developing the entire area from one building’s facade to the opposite facade across the street. This method creates a complete and polished urban street appearance, avoiding patchwork improvements and ensuring visual and functional coherence.

The “Solutions Atlas” is aligned with sustainable development goals and seeks to integrate national architectural traditions into the contemporary urban environment. Its implementation aims to create environmentally friendly, functional, and aesthetically pleasing public spaces that enhance quality of life and foster a culturally rich urban atmosphere. It will also serve as a tool for avoiding common design and implementation errors in future improvement projects.

During the presentation, key provisions of the document were outlined, along with practical tasks arising from its application.

The head of state issued directives to further enhance the capital’s appearance while preserving its historical identity, carry out comprehensive improvements to the street and road network, and raise the overall standard of urban culture.
